This is in a beautiful village spot in gorgeous grounds. Liz has thought of everything, including a little jug of milk so you’re alright for a tea or coffee on arrival before getting in your own supplies.

We used the directions Liz provided, which take you perfectly to the Coach House. It’s important as the location is on a bend which is best approached as Liz advises.

I thought the veranda and private patio makes the Coach House even more special: we had an evening and morning of summer rain and still we stayed dry on the veranda. There is so much information Liz provides in the house you won’t be short of inspiration for what to do in the area. There are two restaurants in the village which are within 10 minute walking distance, and Liz provides a torch too – handy if you traipse back in the dark!

All in all this is a lovely place & I’d recommend it!

Excellent accommodation, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Huge bed which was really comfortable. The hosts Liz and John were very friendly and helpful. The location is quiet yet only a mile or so from the A40. An ideal base for touring the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this delightful, lovingly restored coach house. It is spotlessly clean, well equipped, warm and cosy. Our hosts kindly left some delicious fresh eggs and fruit and they provide much interesting and useful local information. It is a quiet location but with easy access to the lovely Wye Valley. The food at the local pub, The Hostelrie, was excellent. So much to enjoy on your doorstep

A cozy and adorable bolt hole for exploring the Wye Valley. The Coach House is the perfect size for two people and we had everything we needed for a lovely long weekend. There are two great pubs in walking distance plus it’s a short drive to many other beautiful spots. We’d definitely come back!

We’ve had a lovely stay at the coach house. Everything was well thought out and comfortable. Good pub meals in the village. All in all a great place to stay.

The coach house is lovely and in a great location for walking, biking, water boarding and getting to know the local pubs! Lovely outside space to enjoy too.

April 2022

We spent four days at the Coach House and thoroughly recommend it. Liz and John are excellent hosts, answering our questions quickly and accurately, and making us feel very welcome. The accommodation itself is first class, spotlessly clean with excellent amenities and in a quiet village that’s worth exploring. We spent time on some beautiful walks along the Wye and in the surrounding countryside. Altogether a relaxing and very enjoyable break.

Liz and John have created a wonderful, cosy getaway in a beautiful part of Herefordshire. The Coach House was immaculate, well equipped and very comfortable. The Coach House is well placed to explore the Wye Valley, be it by foot, bike or canoe! There are great places to eat nearby too and we would recommend the Hostelrie, in Goodrich itself, and The New Inn at St Owen’s Cross (barely a 10 minute drive away). Finally, Liz and John are perfect hosts, incredibly welcoming but also respectful of your privacy. We would absolutely recommend a stay here!

We thoroughly enjoyed our second stay at Granton Coach House. A beautiful and very comfortable cottage in a great location, with three pubs within walking distance and lots of walks right on the doorstep. Liz and John are excellent hosts – they made us feel very welcome and were on hand if needed. We really appreciated the friendly gestures, such as the flowers and fresh eggs. Highly recommended.

Our second stay in the coach house and we shall return as there are still plenty of walks in the area and places to visit. Can recommend a visit to Hay for bookshops and independent shops also Monmouth for the same reason. Salt and Pepper cook shop has na outstanding coffee shop above. Both pubs are within the village and both serve good food. Loved the idea of local jams and chutney as we bought some for us as well as friends.

We have loved our few days here ij the coach house. It is a beautiful property with everything you could need. Goodrich castle was the highlight and the audio guide made it come alive! We enjoyed a boat trip at Symonds Yet and ate out in the two pubs each night. We will be back again!
